Our Materials
At Sixmore.Clothing, we like to keep it comfy for you and the planet. That’s why our clothes are made with organic cotton—soft and breathable and grown without any of the nasty stuff. To keep things extra sustainable, we blend it with recycled polyester, giving a second life to plastic bottles while adding durability to your fave wardrobe staples. It’s a win-win: feel-good fashion that’s easy on you and the Earth.
Organic Cotton
Let’s talk cotton—the superstar of natural plant fibers! It’s everywhere in the textile world, holding the crown as the most produced natural fiber. But here’s the thing: not all cotton is created equal, and we’ve gone the extra mile to make sure we’re doing things right.
Organic cotton; the eco-friendlier, guilt-free alternative to conventional cotton. Why? Because it’s grown without genetically modified organisms, nasty pesticides or harsh chemical fertilizers. Instead, organic cotton relies on good old compost to keep things natural and sustainable. That means happier ecosystems, healthier biodiversity and fewer harmful impacts on the environment.
Now, here’s a jaw-dropper: the traditional cotton industry is the second most polluting industry in the world, right behind oil. In fact, cotton makes up a whopping 40% of global textile production—and brings along 25% of the world’s insecticide use. Yikes! That’s why we’ve chosen organic cotton; it’s just better for everyone, plain and simple.
But wait, there’s more - did you know a standard cotton T-shirt takes about 2,700 litres of water to make? That’s the equivalent of 70 showers. Organic cotton? Just 1,100 litres. The secret? Healthy organic soil that holds onto water like a champ; less water wasted, less harm done and still just as comfy and durable.
Oh, and we haven’t forgotten about you! Organic cotton isn’t just good for the planet—it’s great for you too. It’s softer, thicker, non-allergenic and built to last. Whether you’re rocking a laid-back tee or cozy layers, our organic cotton gear feels as amazing as it looks.
So yeah, we’re proud to say our clothing is made with organic cotton. It’s fairer, kinder and an all-round win for you, your wardrobe and the planet!
Recycled Polyester
We’re all about turning trash into treasure here at Sixmore.Clothing. That’s why we’re using recycled polyester—aka the superhero of sustainable fashion. It’s made from pre-loved materials like textile scraps and plastic bottles, giving them a second shot at life instead of letting them hang around polluting our planet. Win-win, right?
Let’s talk polyester - It’s made from plastic (yep, the kind that’s not so great for the environment) and producing it from scratch uses a ton of energy. Oh and did we mention it sticks around forever? Like, “it’ll still be here when your great-great-grandkids are around” kind of forever. Plus, every wash releases pesky microplastics. So yeah, virgin polyester isn’t exactly a saint.
But recycled polyester? That’s a whole different vibe. We’re taking what’s already out there—textile scraps, used clothing, and plastic waste—and giving it a new lease on life. For example, our Unisex Founders Hoodie? Made using the equivalent of six recycled 500ml plastic bottles! How cool is that?
It’s not just random plastic though. These bottles are fished out of the ocean (thanks, fishermen!), sent off to recycling organisations and transformed. They’re shredded into flakes, turned into granules, melted into thread and finally woven into fabric for our clothing. Pretty magical, right?
We use post-consumer recycled polyester, which basically means it comes from items that you, your neighbours or businesses have already used. We’re big on keeping things honest, so we make sure every bit of material is traceable and top-quality, all the way through the process.
Oh, and don’t worry—our recycled polyester doesn’t just save the planet, it’s practical too. Durable, comfy and just as stylish, it’s perfect for everyday wear. So, when you rock one of our pieces, you’re not just looking good—you’re doing good.
